We had an excellent day with Daniel T as our tour guide. We visited Moonlit Sanctuary feeding the kangaroos which was great we then went to the beach and looked for penguins before going to penguin parade. Daniel T was knowledgable, fun and the whole day was very well organised.
We opted for the ranger guided tour for the penguin parade. We didn’t realize all the other activities. We stopped at the Moonlit Sanctuary for an our and had time to see Australian animals up close. We then went to the Nobbies, for beautiful scenery and a stop in Cowes for dinner. I would have liked a little more time at the Penguin parade as the gift shop was very nice but no time to shop. We met our ranger and in a small group of 8 she equipped us with binoculars and headset and guided us to great seats. We saw hundreds of penguins come out of the water and later followed along the path they were taking. It was great. I do not believe the general admission folks could see what we saw, they were too far away. It was definitely worth the premium. Our guide Paul who drove us was also excellent. The only disappointment was no photos allowed.
We had an excellent day trip out to the Moonlit Sanctuary and Phillip Island to visit the Nobbies and of course attend the penguin parade. Yes, you do spend a lot of time on the bus, but part of the appeal of this trip was all the included transportation - we did not rent a car and would not have been able to see these amazing sights without a tour operator. Our guide, Kurn, was funny and knowledgeable and as it was an unintentionally small group, it was a much more intimate experience than I expected for the cost. I would have loved to have spent more time at each stop, but we simply wouldn't have been able to fit in all the different activities if we spent more time at each location. This was the best way to see all the various sights, and I am so grateful to have found Bunyip. Thank you!
Seeing the parade of Penguins is a worthwhile tourist experience. We did not realize the afternoon tour would stretch to midnight. One has to be at the Island sight at night to see them. After we did the tour, we were informed by our hotel staff that one could see Penguins on a local beach without charge. The tour would have been better and would not have taken so long if it just had the Penguin parade. The animal park we stopped at was low end and not as nice as many others. The tour director was both caring and a nervous wellie. He made us think that we would not have time to stop for dinner which led us to order poor quality food at the park. We thereafter went to a small town where we had plenty of time to order food from a variety of restaurants. Keep in mind that the initial tour advertised has upgrades giving better locations for viewing. They are worth while, but one needs to arrive early for good placement.
We took this tour and loved every minute. We got to feed the kangeroos at the moonlit wildlife santury first and then drive down to Phillip Island, taking in the scenery on the way. We were late in the season for the penguins, but they did not dissappoint, it's a lovely sight.
Tour was very unique and one of it kind. We saw loads of penguins in their natural surroundings. Just This was well worth the tour cost. Other parts of the tour were not that good. Moonlit sanctuary had very few wildlife and was not impressive. Our guide Kurn was very funny and witty and was very knowledgeable. Overall, good experience
We had the pleasure of receiving Rob as our tour guide and he was entertaining the whole day. The stop at the wildlife sanctuary was a nice bonus as we got to feed some kangaroos and wallabys! Had a nice seaside dinner before heading to see the penguins. Penguin parade was better than we imagined and the upgrade to the guided tour at the parade was well worth it. Highly recommend this excursion!! Thanks for the nice day Rob!
It is a truely amazing experience for our family. The guide Courtney from Bunyip travel is lovely and amazing, she is very accomodating, super friendly, knowledgeable. The trip is planned very well, no time wasted. I highly recommend the penguin parade plus underground as you get to stay away from the mass crowd, you get the first class stand to see the penguins march right infront of your eye level. The wallabies and koala experience at philip island is also another big highlight. You get to feed the wallabies and ducks, they are super approachable and friendly. The tour is truely small group with less than 15pax.
We had a wonderful day going to Phillip Island. Our day was filled with so much more than just the Penguin Parade. Our guide and driver Rob, was not only knowledgeable but a very entertaining story teller. Both of my parents were able to have native wildlife encounters at Moonlit Sanctuary, which we will never forget. Phillip Island is overflowing with spactacular views along the coastline. Pictures don't do it justice. The Penguin Parade is a must see. The little creatures are a sight to behold. We would definately recommend Bunyip Tours to freinds and family. One suggestion would be to have the pick up point updated on your website. All the best, Amy from Moruya
