Gavin from Lumineer Tours organised a great tour. We stopped at the Sand Dunes, went to the pinnacles and had dinner there: BBQ & wine. On the way back to Perth we stopped and looked at the stars. It was a wonderful day and I really enjoyed the tour. Strongly recommended!
Great experience, overall very satisfying trip, the drive was long, but our driver Chris made the trip exciting with all the information and included a nice dinner, some dessert would have been nice but was still good. Chris made every effort to get there before sunset and again provided the lamps and torches for nighttime star gazing, the clear sky really helped. We really had a great time. Thanks Adams and Chris.
I wanted to take a starry night picture. But I couldn't. If you are looking foward to taking lots of stars from the sky using the normal IPhone , I would say "you can't" . But you might see through your own eyes ! It still good . And Guide was very kind !
Went on Sunday 23rd February 2020. Easy to find pick up location. Very knowledgeable & friendly driver and support person on bus. Pinnacles were amazing. was a bit cloudy and driver stopped on way home so we could again have a better view of night sky. Was dropped off directly to hotel late at night. excellent service.
The pinnacles was fantastic as well as the lobster dinner only to be surpassed by very clear starry night. The only thing would we have liked more is some more time at the pinnacles in the afternoon, one hour wasn't enough. The driver gave good Information on the way out to the pinnacles and the trip was comfortable.
Highly entertaining, interesting and an experience to remember. Huge shout out to our driver and tour guide Luke. His local knowledge of WA history, flora and fauna and good ol’ Aussie yarns is second to none. Picked up from Perth city at your hotel you get to ride in a luxury bus for the trip out to the desert. The pinnacles are truly a natural wonder. Top that with a setting sun over the Indian Ocean for a majestic experience. Then a great dinner at a outback pub where you made to feel welcome. Afterwards back to the pinnacles in the night. The sky with no light pollution reveals the great southern sky of a million stars. We even saw satellites zooming pass, pointed out by Luke your guide. If you’re in Perth for a visit put this on the to do list. Great value for money and nothing like it on the east coast.
I took this tour on the 12th December 2019. Unfortunately, the fire at Yanchep meant that our tour had to reroute, which took longer and also meant that we only got to see the pinnacles in the daylight, not under the night sky. This was a big disappointment for me, although it wasn't really the fault of the company. Instead of Yanchep, we went to see the white sand dunes at Lancelin which were truly impressive, but due to time constraints we weren't even able to get out and take proper photos. Our tour guides also fell flat for me, although they were distracted by figuring out a new route so I don't know how much that played into it. One guide kept getting things wrong and having to correct herself, or forgetting information and trailing off in the middle of her sentence. A lot of her commentary seemed to be fairly obsolete - for example saying "such and such a winery is on the left" when there was a big sign to our left saying "such and such winery", and not going into further detail. The driver was definitely better and told us a lot about the native flora, fauna and landforms we were passing, but was still fairly dry. Some of the commentary was also telling us facts about other attractions around Perth that had nothing to do with our trip, or telling us how good a certain restaurant at Cervantes was - not the one we were going to eat at! This was certainly not helped by the fact that the place we did eat was just average. There generally didn't seem to be much attempt to create a rapport with passengers. As I've just mentioned, the food was only okay and there were only three options (burger, fish and chips, haloumi salad) which had to be chosen in advance on the bus. The afternoon tea was supermarket cake and packet biscuits. The pinnacles themselves were great and I certainly don't regret going to see them. We had time to walk around and take it all in, and I got some good photos. Our 'night sky' experience was at a beach after dinner, but due to a full moon and the smoke from the fires there was very little visibility. Again, this is not the fault of the company, but it was a shame. I appreciate that you're dropped back directly at your hotel. I've chosen the 'average' rating to give the benefit of the doubt, because I do understand that there was disruption outside of the company's control, and that the guides were probably distracted because of this too. But other than being happy to see the pinnacles, I didn't really have a nice time on this tour.
