The NFSA reopens its doors to the public in Canberra on Saturday 1 August at 10am, with a new public space, screenings and special events. We are designing a new experience called Hive, which will give visitors an opportunity to explore stories about our experts and the treasures preserved in our collection. To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, we are adapting our physical spaces – with new signage, enhanced cleaning and hand-sanitising stations – and assessing foot traffic, social distancing and event capacity. The events program for August will be available from early July. More detailed information about health and safety at the NFSA will be available on this page, so you can plan your visit and address any concerns with our staff ahead of time. In the meantime, you can find hundreds of hours of content from our collection online, so you can continue to explore Australia’s audiovisual history during this time.
